New 2026 Season Update: TDJ’s Next Chapter in East Coast
TDJ Basketball Academy is entering a major new phase for the 2026 season.
For families searching for basketball classes for kids in Singapore, the goal should not just be to find the nearest available court. The goal should be to find a programme with structure, standards, proper placement, and a real pathway for development.
That is the direction TDJ is moving toward.
We are currently preparing for our next academy chapter: an indoor, air-conditioned training facility in the East Coast area, with renovations now starting and launch targeted for end of Q3 to early Q4 2026.
This facility is being built to give athletes a more consistent, professional, and focused training environment — while allowing TDJ to continue developing a stronger pathway from youth training into competitive basketball and overseas exposure opportunities.
Current Training Locations
While the indoor facility is being prepared, TDJ will continue training across selected venues in Singapore.

As we transition toward the East Coast indoor academy, selected venues such as OCBC Arena and ACS Barker may continue to remain part of TDJ’s training ecosystem where they support the programme structure.
This transition allows us to keep training active now while preparing for a more controlled indoor academy model.
Why the Indoor Facility Matters
A dedicated indoor and air-conditioned facility is not just about comfort.
It allows TDJ to build a better academy system.
For parents, this means greater consistency, better scheduling, reduced weather disruption, and a clearer training environment. For athletes, it means more focused sessions, stronger routines, better development standards, and a more professional setting to train in.
TDJ’s long-term goal is not to become the biggest basketball class provider in Singapore.
The goal is to become Singapore’s most trusted premium basketball academy for families and athletes who want more than casual weekly training.
Built for Youth Development and Competitive Athletes
For the 2026 season, our main focus will be on two key pathways:
Youth Development Program
Youth Development Program is for athletes who are building stronger fundamentals, confidence, basketball IQ, decision-making, and long-term training habits.
This is suitable for beginners, developing athletes, and players who need proper structure before moving into a more competitive environment.
The goal is not just to run drills.
The goal is to help athletes understand the game, build better habits, and progress with the right foundation.
Competitive Program
The Competitive Program is for athletes who are ready for a more serious training environment.
This pathway focuses on team concepts, game application, accountability, decision-making, competitive habits, and preparation for school teams, friendlies, tournaments, and higher-level basketball environments.
Entry into the Competitive Program is placement-based. Athletes must first be assessed so our coaching team can determine whether they are ready for the demands of competitive training.
A Pathway Beyond Singapore
Most basketball classes stop at weekly training.
TDJ is building something different.
Our academy is designed to connect serious athletes in Singapore to higher-level basketball standards beyond the local environment. This includes overseas training exposure, U.S. pathway education, and NBA/D1-linked basketball environments where available.
The wider TDJ network and pathway vision includes access to coaches, players, and basketball figures such as Bobby Brown, Norm Richardson, Pooh Jeter, and God Shammgod, where appropriate and available.
This does not mean every athlete will play overseas.
It does not mean TDJ guarantees scholarships, university placements, professional contracts, or overseas selection.
What it means is that committed athletes can train inside a system that exposes them to higher standards, clearer expectations, and a more serious basketball development pathway.
For the 2026 season, a winter U.S. trip is also in the plans as part of TDJ’s broader overseas pathway direction.

Why We Start With a Trial Assessment
Every new athlete begins with a Trial Assessment.
This allows our coaching team to understand the athlete’s current level before recommending the right programme.
During the assessment, we look at:
Age and development stage
Current skill level
Confidence
Coachability
Movement quality
Game understanding
Training habits
Physical readiness
Long-term goals
This helps us place athletes properly instead of asking parents to guess which class or programme is suitable.
After the Trial Assessment, parents will receive guidance on the recommended pathway and account onboarding through TDJ’s booking system.
Founding Rates Available Until End September
As TDJ prepares for the indoor academy launch, Founding Rates are available until the end of September.
Families who lock in during this window will be able to keep their Founders pricing until the end of the year.
This is designed for families who want to join before indoor academy pricing takes effect and be part of TDJ’s next chapter from the beginning.
How to Join TDJ
The first step is to book a Trial Assessment.
When enquiring, please share:
Child’s age
Current level — beginner, developing, or competitive
Main goal — learn basketball, make school team, compete seriously, or explore overseas pathway
From there, TDJ will recommend the most suitable assessment session and guide you through the next step.
